Hazrat
sahib of Darbar e Aaliya Gulhar Sharif.
Hazrat
sahib is from the Quraysh tribe - hence the title Qazi. They
were origionally based in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. Alhamdulilah
they also have a dargah in Jhelum where there blessed ancestors
are buried. Hazrat sahib had a large and beautiful dargah in
Mirpur which flourished thanks to the faiz of Rasoolallah SWS
and by the will of Allah SWT. However, the government decided
to build the Mangla Dam which meant that their dargah would
be flooded. Hazrat sahib decided to move to a unknown village
called Kotli. The bodies of the Auliyya were dug and sent to
Jhelum. Hazrat sahib arrived in Kotli with their faithfull Mureeds
from Mirpur including my late grandfather may Allah grant him
peace. Soon, work started on a large mosque and new Dargah origionally
known as Aghar Sharif , now known as Gulhar Sharif or 'palace
of flowers'. Soon, as Aghar sharif grew in size so Kotli gre
in size and prosperity. Today, Gulhar sharif is still growing
and so Alhamdulilah is Kotli. Hazrat sahib have a large following
of mureeds all over the world and by the grace of Allah SWT
their nephews run a mosque in Luton, UK. Gulahr sharif is a
well known institute and many Imams in the UK have studied there.
A miracle of Hazrat Sahib. Hazrat Sahib stick strictly to the
beautiful Sunnah and to the blessed Hanafi Fiqh. Hazrat sahib
wear clothes for a full week before washing them. It is a well
known fact that even if a person wears clothes for one day,
they smell of bad body odors. Many Mureeds confirm that even
after wearing them for a full week, Hazrat sahibs clothes give
off their own unique fragrance. Many great scholars and personalities
such as the blessed Muffakir e Islam, Pir Abdul Qadir Jilani
shah sahib, may Allah grant them more and more knowledge, have
paid homage to Hazrat Sahib in Gulhar sharif. The atmosphere
within the complex is unique.
There is dazzling white marble evrywhere, beautiful palm trees
swaying in the wind, tall minarets testifying the Tawhid of
Allah SWT against the natural landscape. Hazrat sahib has mashallah
advanced a lot in age and are very frail. They can only be seen
at Jummah when they are taken around Gulhar sharif in a wheelchair.
May Allah SWT continue to shower his mercy on us by giving us
the guidance of his chosen ones such as Hazrat sahib of Gulhar
sharif, Hazrat Nazim and Hisham sahib of Cyprus, Hazrat Zinda
Pir r/a and Sufi Abdullah sahib of Ghamkol sharif, Hazrat Sufi
Aslam sahib r/a of Shadpur sharif, Hazrat Alaudeen Siddiqui
sahib of Nerian Sharif, Hazrat Pir Irfan Shah sahib, Hazrat
Muffakir e Islam, Dr Tahir ul Qadri sahib and all of the other
blessed Auliyya and Shaykhs in our time and before us. Ameen

*Mirpur
is a city of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. The name means city of
Mir. Many of the people of this area are farmers. Since the
1960s, a large number of people from this district have gone
abroad, especially to the United Kingdom and the Middle East,
for economic reasons. As such they are today the major foreign
exchange earning source for Azad Kashmir. Around 50,000 people
were moved from this district in the mid-sixties to make way
for the construction of the Mangla Dam. Most of these people
settled in new Mirpur whilst some moved elsewhere in Pakistan
or to the UK.

Sheikh Zain-ud-din :
Aishmuqam Village Aishmuqam is very well known in every part
of Kashmir on account of the historical shrine of Sheikh Zain-ud-din,
who lived in the 15th century A.D. and was one of the principal
disciples of Sheikh Nur-ud-din, the leading Reshi of Kashmir.
It is commonly known in Kashmir that Sheikh Zain-ud-din, who
was known by the name of Zia Singh before his conversion, was
a prince and belonged to the ruling Rajas of Kishtwar. Among
the local inhabitants, legend has it that Zain-ud-din meditated
for a long time in the village Mandjan of Tehsil Sopore, where
he attained spiritual perfection. It was at this stage that
Sheikh Nur-ud-din advised him to migrate to the cave at Aishmuqam
and to meditate there for the remaining period of his life.

Quick
Tips/Suggestions:
According to the legend, the Urs festival at Aishmuqam continues
to be celebrated from pre-Islamic times and dates back to about
2,000 years. All communities respect the shrine of Zain-ud-din,
and they actively participate in the celebration of the anniversary.
There is no restriction to the entry into the shrine, which
is open to visits by persons of either sex and of any community.
At
present Waqf Board is looking after the day-to-day management
and maintenance of Dargah. A huge number of locals as well as
those from Pakistan, Afghanistan Jaireens, visit this shrine
throughout the year. In URS days around 50 to 60,000 Jaireens
visit this shrine daily to listen whole night Qawwalis sung
in the praise of Allah and Holy Saint and pay their obeisance.
On average, 4,000 Jaireens visit this place daily, except the
months of December and January, when, due to cold weather in
the valley, the number of daily Jaireens comes down to about
1,000 persons.
Makhdoom
Sahib
Makhdoom Sahib inherited the mysticism, and from very childhood
was inclined to the company of holy men, and to the truth. Having
read the Holy Quran in the village, he went to the seminary
of Sheikh Ismail Kabroi for higher studies. He studied the Jurisprudence,
Tradition, Logic, Philosophy, Ethics, and Mysticism. The great
sage followed the Sunni (tradition) strictly not only in prayers
but also in table manners, dress, etc. He scrupulously followed
the Prophet and his love for Him knew no bounds. These things
helped him to reach the highest rank. Later he had to forsake
His love for isolation in order to serve the people. He remarks:
In the early days I had completely abandoned the company
of the people. God granted me the gift of peace at heart and
composure of mind. He ordered me to serve the people so I came
and started delivering the Message.
His
greatest contribution was that he delivered it in its purest
form to the people and that he instructed the people to forsake
superstitions and Un-Islamic activities through his speech and
actions. He was buried near Hari Parbat. Thousands of people
visit the shrine to pay their respects and receive his blessings.
Ladies come and cry in tears with hiccups to narrate their sorrows
to --Makhdoom Saheb, which, as per belief, relieves them of
their sorrows.
